We collect information you provide and information generated as you use SmartPrepX:
- Account information: your name, email address, mobile number (if provided), and password.
- Academic profile: your province, grade, district and address, so we can show you the right syllabus and content.
- Learning activity: questions you practise, MCQ and short-question assessments you take, assessment history, results, bookmarks and progress data.
- Subscription & billing data: your selected plan, subscription status and related transaction records.
- Speech-to-text data: when you use speech-to-text for short questions, your voice input or generated transcript may be processed to convert your answer into text.
- Question suggestions: if your plan allows question suggestions, we collect the suggested question, related subject or chapter details and review status.
- Notification data: your device token, notification preferences and notification delivery or read status.
- Support communications: messages you send through our help and feedback forms.
- Technical and advertising data: device, browser, usage and ad-display information collected automatically to keep the service secure, working well and, for Basic and Standard users, supported by ads.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
- To deliver province- and grade-aligned content, assessments and past papers.
- To save your MCQ and short-question assessment history, track your progress and provide personalised performance insights.
- To process subscriptions, renewals and access to paid features.
- To show ads to Basic and Standard plan users and provide an ad-free experience to Premium users.
- To provide speech-to-text support for short-question answers when you choose to use that feature.
- To review question suggestions submitted by eligible Premium users and improve the question bank.
- To send important service messages, such as password resets and account notices.
- To send push notifications about account activity, subscriptions, learning reminders, announcements and other app updates, based on your preferences.
- To respond to your support requests and improve our content and platform.
- To protect SmartPrepX against fraud, abuse and security threats.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only when necessary:
- With trusted service providers (such as hosting, email and authentication providers, including Google for optional sign-in) who process data on our behalf.
- With speech-to-text, push notification and analytics providers where needed to deliver those app features.
- With advertising partners where needed to show, measure and improve ads for Basic and Standard plan users. Premium users receive full access without ads.
- When required by law, regulation or valid legal process.
- To protect the rights, safety and security of SmartPrepX, our users and the public.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Passwords are stored using strong one-way encryption, and access to personal data is restricted. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security, so please keep your login credentials confidential.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, including assessment history, subscription records, question suggestions, support requests and notification records. We may retain certain records longer where required for legal, accounting or security purposes.
6. Children's Privacy
SmartPrepX serves school students, often minors, who use the platform under the guidance of parents, guardians or educators. We collect only the information needed to provide our educational service. Parents or guardians who wish to review or remove a student's information may contact us at any time.
7. Your Rights & Choices
- You may access and update your profile information from within your account.
- You may request correction or deletion of your personal data, subject to legal limits.
- You may manage push notification and microphone permissions through your app or device settings.
- You may close your account by contacting our support team.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the version and the published date below. Your continued use of SmartPrepX after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
